Mark Stevens is in his third year as executive director of the Pennsylvania eHealth Initiative (PAeHI), a statewide not-for-profit organization founded by Pennsylvania’s leading healthcare stakeholders to promote the broader adoption of electronic health records (EHRs) and health information exchange throughout the Commonwealth. As Executive Director, Mark’s management responsibilities include all membership, fundraising, communications, legislative and community outreach activities for the 250-plus member organization.

Mark has a decade of public sector management, development, marketing and public relations and communications experience, as well as a decade of executive search and recruiting experience, which taught him much about job creation. Prior to that, Mr. Stevens served as director of development for a multi-million dollar community development corporation in Boston, and worked for three years for Boston Mayor Tom Menino in that city’s community economic development department after serving as the deputy campaign manager of the mayor’s inaugural campaign.

Mark has been active in community affairs, and currently serves as vice chair of the West Chester Recreation Commission and on the board of Friends of West Chester Parks and Recreation. Mark also serves on the boards and task forces of several regional and national healthcare information technology associations, and has served in senior management roles in numerous political campaigns both in Chester County and other regions.  Currently, Mark is also in his third year directing a statewide citizen’s advocacy day with the legislature bringing lawmakers and healthcare stakeholders from across Pennsylvania in support of healthcare information technology adoption.

Mark grew up in Albany, NY, where his family founded Normanskill Farm, that city’s first dairy. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Vermont and attended graduate school for public affairs at the University of Massachusetts. Mark is the proud father of two daughters, Morgan age 13 and Sarah age 9, and resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
